Hi! My name is Chloe Machielse and I am a Registered Psychologist, regulated by the College of Alberta Psychologists. I obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Addictions Counselling with Distinction from the University of Lethbridge and a Master’s degree in Counselling from City University of Seattle with Honours.
I have a particular interest in treating young adults (Gen Z, I see you!) with loss and grief-related concerns, sexuality and gender exploration, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma. Although supporting young adults is a passion of mine, I enjoy supporting people of all ages. I also see couples for premarital and pre-emptive counselling and I provide inclusive counselling services for LGBTQ+, polyamorous, and other diverse relationship structures, offering a supportive space for all couples to explore their unique dynamics.
My practice is grounded in attachment-based, and trauma-informed perspectives. I integrate approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions to best meet each client’s needs.
I aim to build authentic connections with my clients by fostering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where they feel deeply understood. Together, we can explore your challenges, process your experiences, and develop effective coping strategies that support healing, growth, and a greater sense of well-being. My goal is to guide you toward a life that feels meaningful, balanced, peaceful and aligned with your values.
